A group of cyclists representing the “Bike Angels” from Taiwan recently completed their journey along Xiamen’s aquatic sports center track, a unique bicycle path spanning Xinglin Bay. The ride brought together twenty members from the Xiamen Taiwanese Business Association Cycling Team, along with family members and more than ten cross-strait volunteers supporting the Bike Angels initiative. Together, they pedaled toward the finish line under a soft evening sunset, celebrating the conclusion of their tour.
The Xiamen Water Sports Center track is Fujian Province’s only ocean bicycle path. Its entire route is built over water, offering sweeping views of the nearby Horticultural Garden Expo park and Jimei New City—a feature that has made it increasingly popular. As the cycling group arrived in the evening, egrets flew low over the water, and the summer sun cast a gentle glow. The sea appeared divided by the path into two distinct surfaces, one reflecting deep blue, the other shimmering with twilight colors.
Through a light haze, an orderly line of cyclists emerged. The Taiwan Bike Angels team moved steadily through the fading light, crossing the finish as a unified group. Although the ride had ended, the striking scenery left a lasting impression. Many participants lingered on the path, taking photos with their bicycles against the picturesque backdrop.
“The meaning of cycling lies in enjoying the journey and the views along the way, as well as in searching for the ideal home in our hearts,” remarked Yang Minzhong, Chairman of the Taiwan Bike Angels Association, as dusk settled and stars began to appear.
