This cycling route begins at the Xinglin Bay Coastal Greenway, passes through the Jimei School Village and Dragon Boat Pond, and concludes at Nanxun Tower.
First Stop: Xinglin Bay Coastal Greenway
Xiamen’s Only Overwater Bicycle Path
Originally built for a nearby water sports center, the Xinglin Bay Coastal Greenway has become a distinctive scenic feature of Jimei New City.
This 2.6-kilometer greenway, taking approximately 19 minutes to cycle, is Xiamen’s exclusive overwater bicycle path. Riding here offers beautiful views of Xinglin Bay and a wonderfully relaxing experience.
- Location: Xinglinwan Road, Jimei District
- Route Access: Pass through the market next to the Crystal Bay residential area near Huaqiao University Town to find the greenway entrance.
Second Stop: Jimei School Village Station
A Scenic Ride Blending Culture and History
The Jimei School Village Station stands on the site of the old Jimei Railway Station. Its design incorporates train elements and the distinctive Jiageng architectural style. This transformation has made the station a landmark, famously known for the “Xiamen Sea Metro” and a must-visit for tourists.
On a pleasant day, cyclists can enjoy a gentle breeze as they ride paths lined with palm trees. Watch the sun set slowly over the Xinglin Bridge and observe the steady flow of traffic, finding a moment of tranquility within the bustle.
- Location: South of the intersection of Hati Road and Provincial Highway 206, Jimei District
- Route: From the overwater bicycle path exit, cycle along Binshui Road for about 2 km. Turn left onto Yinjiang Road, passing by Wanda Plaza, and continue for about 10 minutes to reach the Jimei School Village area.
Third Stop: Dragon Boat Pond
Cycling Amidst Literary Ambiance
Seven pavilions, centered around Nanhui Pavilion, surround the Dragon Boat Pond, featuring glazed tiles and ornate carvings. Here, you can listen to the wind by the pond, admire the silhouettes of Nanxun Tower and Daonan Tower against the sunset, and feel the gentle embrace of evening settling over the Jimei School Village.
- Location: No. 19 Aoyuan Road, Jimei District
- Route: From the Jimei School Village, cycle to Hati Road, turn left onto Aoyuan Road, and continue for about 500 meters to see the Dragon Boat Pond.
Fourth Stop: Nanxun Tower
A Blend of Eastern and Western Architecture
Continuing along from the Dragon Boat Pond, you will see Nanxun Tower. It combines a Western-style main structure with classically elegant Chinese pavilions.
The building’s design reflects Mr. Chen Jiageng’s strong national spirit and deep patriotism. Nanxun Tower retains its timeless elegance, forming a serene picture alongside the surrounding banyan trees.

- Route: From the Dragon Boat Pond, continue cycling along Aoyuan Road for about 400 meters to see the Nanxun Tower complex.
