Kangping County, Shenyang – The 2025 China Road Cycling League & China Cycling Tour Kangping Stage concluded successfully on June 1st after five exciting days of racing. The event attracted approximately 1,200 participants, including 417 professional athletes and over 800 recreational riders, competing in disciplines such as individual time trials, mixed team time trials, urban criteriums, and men’s and women’s road races.

As the only road cycling event in China where riders can earn points toward the National Cup, National Championships, and the 15th National Games, the league serves as a crucial platform for athletes aiming to qualify for China’s premier multi-sport event.

The competition began on May 28th with the individual time trials. Zhao Mingxu from Team Hunan secured the men’s title, while Zhang Hao from Team Hainan won the women’s event. The following day, Team Heilongjiang triumphed in the mixed team time trial.

The urban criterium on May 30th saw intense racing, with Zhang Hao (Team Shandong) and Liu Jiali (Team Sichuan Ruipao) taking top honors in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.

On May 31st, Chen Lulu (Team Henan Badirui) sprinted to victory in the women’s 124.5km road race.

The final day, June 1st, featured the grueling 249-kilometer men’s road race. In a stunning performance, Xu Zhaoliang of Merida Novecento Team broke away solo to claim a memorable win. Jiang Yipei (Team Inner Mongolia) and Qiao Feng (Team Dalian) completed the podium.
During the opening ceremony, Kangping County was officially designated as the “Liaoning Provincial Cycling Training Base” and “Shenyang Cycling Training Base,” marking a significant step in the region’s commitment to developing professional sports infrastructure. The event also highlighted Kangping’s scenic attractions, such as Wolong Lake and the Liaohe River’s First Bend, integrating sports with tourism and local culture.

The successful organization of the Kangping stage not only elevated the county’s profile but also demonstrated its determination to become a hub for sports and cultural tourism, injecting new vitality into sustainable regional development.
