Get ready, cycling world—something special is rolling into Rwanda this September! For the first time ever, the UCI Road World Championships are being held on African soil, and China’s national road cycling team is geared up to join the historic moment.
The squad gathered in Beijing on September 15 for a send-off meeting full of positive vibes and serious focus. Led by officials including Jue Qiong, deputy director of the Chinese Cycling Association, the team set five key goals: ride hard, ride smart, ride clean, learn from the best, and share China’s story with the world.
And yes—they’ve all signed anti-doping pledges, proving their commitment to fair and fierce competition.
The team didn’t waste any time hopping on a plane. In the early hours of September 16, they took off for Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital, ready to take on the world’s top cyclists across nine different events—from elite men’s and women’s races to time trials and the mixed team relay.
This isn’t just another race. It’s a chance to make new friends, gain experience on a global stage, and show what Chinese cycling is all about. As the peloton gathers in Africa for the very first time, all eyes will be on these riders—not just as competitors, but as ambassadors of the sport.
Go get ’em, team!
