The 2025 China Cycling Tour – Dengfeng Chapter, also known as the 6th “Phoenix Finisse” Cup Song Mountain Cycling Event, concluded gloriously on September 14 after two exciting days of riding against the stunning backdrop of the Zen Shaolin Music Ceremony scenic area in Henan province.
Under the guidance of the China Cycling Association and organized by local sports and tourism authorities, the event drew nearly 3,000 cycling enthusiasts from across the country. Riders gathered at the foot of Song Mountain—a UNESCO Global Geopark—for a grand tour blending sport, nature, and ancient Central China culture.
At 8 a.m sharp, the challenge group and dream-chaser group set off together. The challenge group tackled a 110-kilometer rollercoaster route through rural villages and around reservoirs, conquering rugged climbs and scenic landscapes within 6 hours. The dream-chaser group enjoyed a more relaxed 50-kilometer ride along the Song Mountain tourism road, passing cultural landmarks like the Songyang Academy and Zhongyue Temple.
After hours of spirited riding, champions emerged across categories:
Sun Sijie (Changyuan Qiji Cycling Club) won the Men’s Youth group
Chen Meiyi (DYC-Shengyi Youth Team) took the Women’s Youth title
Zhang Zhun (Longhua Technology-Luoyang Tianlu Team) claimed the Men’s Master group
Mo Xiaochen topped the Women’s Master group
Team MCELO-ESSEN Spicy Burger won the Group category
More than just a race, the event offered a rich experience of travel, intangible cultural heritage, and local cuisine—making it a perfect platform for cyclists to challenge themselves, exchange skills, and soak in the natural and cultural beauty of the region.
The success of this year’s ride continues to boost national fitness campaigns, enhance the appeal of Song Mountain tourism, and inject new energy into local cultural and agricultural development.
As the event expands its influence, we’re already looking forward to next year’s edition. Until then—keep those wheels turning!
