Zhangjiakou, China – Rain, mud, and pure adrenaline defined the 2025 Fulong Mountain Bike Carnival, which concluded on August 24 after nine action-packed days in Chongli’s Fulong Four Seasons Town. Drawing 994 riders from across the globe and over 55,000 spectators, this year’s event set a new benchmark for scale and excitement in China’s growing mountain bike scene.
Record Participation & International Flavor
The carnival attracted competitors from more than 30 Chinese provinces, as well as Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and over 20 international riders—signaling its rising profile as a must-ride event in Asia.
New Zealand pro rider Connor Leov praised the venue, saying, “Fulong is one of the most complete mountain bike parks we’ve ridden in China—it offers something for every skill level.”
Rain Can’t Stop the Ride
Despite persistent rain turning tracks into muddy battlegrounds, riders charged through with unstoppable energy. From downhill races and whip-off contests to gravel grinders and family relays, the event’s 9 categories and 38 disciplines left no type of rider behind.
The signature Whip-Off competition drew roaring crowds as riders launched sky-high, twisting their bikes mid-air before sticking the landing.
Pro Line: Where the Best Competed
A special Pro Line—a black-diamond trail open only to elite international riders—featured steep gradients, rock gardens, and big jumps, testing technical skill and courage.
In the end, Connor Leov took top honors, with Chinese rider Tu Xuanzhou and UK rider Ben Moore rounding out the podium.

Now in its fourth year, the Fulong Mountain Bike Carnival has grown into China’s premier MTB festival—inspired by world-class events like Crankworx but rooted in local passion.
With mountain biking confirmed for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, Fulong aims to keep upgrading its facilities to help Chinese riders train at an international level.
Riders aged 3 to 73 took part this year, proving that mountain biking isn’t just a sport—it’s a culture. As one four-time participant shared: “I look forward to Fulong every year. It’s got the best vibe for mountain biking in China.”
