Italian high-performance bicycle brand PINARELLO has officially announced the establishment of a new subsidiary in Shanghai – Pinarello China Ltd. This strategic move marks the brand’s commitment to deepening its presence in the Chinese market through a direct-operations model, enhancing coordination with its headquarters in Villorba, Italy, and strengthening its global footprint in the premium cycling sector.
Strategic Shift to Direct Operations Driven by China’s Growth
The decision to form the subsidiary stems from the explosive growth PINARELLO has experienced in China in recent years, supported by the successful operation of its existing 24 flagship stores in the country. Recognizing China’s strategic value as one of the world’s most promising consumer markets, Pinarello aims to foster deeper customer relationships and more precisely respond to the diverse needs of local cyclists through this direct approach.
Leadership and Global Direct Operations Network

Pinarello China Ltd. will be led by Roberto Vaglio, Wu Haoyu, and Shen Ruihua. This leadership trio has been instrumental in driving the brand’s expansion in China over the past two years, successfully overseeing the scaling of its flagship store network. As PINARELLO’s fifth directly owned subsidiary globally, the Shanghai entity will join a network that includes the United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and South Africa, completing the brand’s direct operational framework in key international markets.
Leadership Comments on Deepening Local Connections

Chairman Fausto Pinarello expressed his strong support for the strategic decision, stating, “After recently visiting our new stores in China, I am confident that establishing the Shanghai subsidiary will bring our brand even closer to Chinese consumers, allowing us to more effectively communicate the PINARELLO riding culture and product value.”
He also extended gratitude to the brand’s long-term partners, including Menia Trading (Huizhou) Co., Ltd., for their collaboration in reaching this important milestone.
CEO Stefano Sacchet highlighted the long-term importance of this step, noting, “With the Shanghai subsidiary now established, PINARELLO has completed the layout of its direct-operations network in core global markets. By optimizing our distribution system, we are positioning ourselves to serve consumers in a more immediate and connected way.”
