Phoenix FNIX Shines at Tour of Shanghai with Dominant Women’s Podium Sweep

The 2025 Tour of Shanghai wrapped up in style this September, with Phoenix FNIX-backed squads putting on a show across the city’s sleek urban landscapes. Against a backdrop of modern skylines and smooth asphalt, the event kicked off at the Waitan Sixteen Piers on September 4th.

From September 5th to 7th, riders competed across three challenging stages in Jiading, Qingpu, Fengxian, and Dishui Lake. As the event’s presenting sponsor, Phoenix Bicycles didn’t just bring bikes—they brought a whole ecosystem of teams, talent, and tech aimed at elevating both pro racing and everyday cycling culture.

Five Squads, One Mission

The opening stage in Jiading covered 95.3 km, winding past landmarks like the Shanghai International Circuit, Yuanxiang Lake, and the Poly Theatre. All five Phoenix FNIX-sponsored teams were in action:

  • Phoenix FNIX-SCOM-Hengxiang Continental Team

  • FNIX-GNC & BLAST Women’s Power Team

  • Sichuan Phoenix FNIX Team

They competed across pro, elite, amateur, and youth categories—making their presence felt at every level.

While the continental team fell just short of the top podium spot, they fought with heart. Meanwhile, the FNIX women’s squad dominated the opening time trial, taking the youth title and landing second and third in the elite category. The development team also impressed with strong finishes in the men’s youth TT.

Women Shine, Sichuan Rises

The real fireworks came on September 6. The FNIX-GNC & BLAST women’s team didn’t just win—they owned the day, sweeping the top nine spots in the women’s elite race. With flawless teamwork, they controlled the race from start to finish, even forming an impressive TTT train before the line.

Not to be outdone, the Sichuan Phoenix FNIX squad clinched first in the men’s elite group the next day. Despite a crash, they rallied with smart tactics and tight teamwork—a true highlight of the tour.

The continental team also held their own against world-class competition. Their climber, Jonas, battled back after a crash to finish in the top ten and even bagged sprint points in the final stage—a testament to his grit and grace.

Tech That Tricks Down

Every team rode the same Phoenix FNIX TEAM edition bikes—featuring aero carbon frames and fully internal cable routing for better stability and control at high speeds.

“Our partnership with Hengxiang goes beyond sponsorship—it’s about R&D,” said Phoenix VP Xue Jiachen. “Riders test, races give feedback, and top tech eventually reaches everyday cyclists. That’s the Phoenix FNIX way.”

Track data and rider input help refine frame geometry and drivetrain performance, creating a continuous loop between competition and consumer innovation.

More Than a Race: A Cycling Carnival

At the Dishui Lake festival, Phoenix FNIX’s booth was a crowd favorite from day one. The interactive turbo trainer zone drew long lines, with visitors loving the light and responsive feel of the team-issue bikes.

On display were FNIX’s hottest models—from drop-bar road machines to full-suspension MTBs, covering everything from racing to city commuting.

There was even a kids’ zone where little ones tried out Phoenix balance bikes—planting early seeds for the next generation of riders.

Looking Ahead

The final 94.5 km stage from Fengxian to Nanhui closed out the event, but the energy around cycling in Shanghai is still building.

Through pro teams, youth development, and public engagement, Phoenix is helping spread cycling culture from the podium to the people—blending technology, community, and real-world experience.

By supporting athletes and innovating behind the scenes, Phoenix isn’t just showing up at races—they’re helping shape the future of cycling in China.
