The route also passes by the Ferry Terminal, Baicheng Overpass, Hulishan Fortress, an

Conference & Exhibition Center. It’s entirely flat with no significant climbs, making it suitable for riders of all ages and skill levels.

The full loop is over 40 km, ideal for a full day’s ride. Many shops along the route offer bicycle rentals, typically requiring a 200-600 RMB deposit and an ID card. Zengcuoan’s food street is a great lunch stop. Other notable routes in Xiamen include loops around Wuyuan Bay, Dongping Mountain Park, the old town, and Yundang Lake.

Dongshan Island in Zhangzhou boasts a spectacular coastal road traversing the cliffs of Sufeng Mountain. With lush green hills on one side and the vast blue ocean on the other, the scenery is breathtaking, making it a favorite among cycling enthusiasts.

The route is approximately 20 km. Starting from Maluan Bay, riders pass Jinluan Bay Beach, Sufeng Mountain Road, and Sufeng Ancient Temple before reaching the summit of Sufeng Mountain. The Sufeng Mountain section is about 8.53 km long and involves a significant climb. The iconic bridge on Sufeng Mountain is a popular photo spot, especially at sunset.

4. Around Guanhzai Mountain

Liancheng County, recognized as a top national natural competition zone, excels in integrating tourism, sports, and culture. The main green cycling route spans about 45 km, passing the Liancheng Museum, Guanzhai Mountain Scenic Area, and Hakka Culture Village.

Riders can also detour to Zhuzhai Village within the Guanzhai Mountain area for a hike to experience its “precipitous, peculiar, and spectacular” landscapes. This route has hosted multiple international mountain biking and marathon events.

5. Around Golden Lake (Dajin Hu)

Experience Taining’s stunning landscape from a different perspective by cycling around Golden Lake. This route is considered one of the most beautiful in Fujian, featuring captivating lakeside and mountain views, Danxia landforms, and charming villages.

The full loop is about 130 km, recommended for a 1-2 day trip. Starting from Taining Ancient Town, the route passes through Xiaqu Township, Kaishan Township, Chitan Power Station, and the ancient village of Laohuji. The most scenic sections run through the Taining Scenic Area, where deep lakes merge with incredible Danxia rock formations, creating a breathtaking waterscape.

6. Pingtan Island Loop

Famous for its seaside vistas, Pingtan captivates cyclists with its vast ocean views and delicious local seafood. The loop around Haitan Island is roughly 100 km and can be completed in a day.

Starting on Jinjingwan Avenue, the route passes the new bus station and Ludyang Township before reaching the Changjiangao Wind Farm. Continuing south along the coastline, riders pass through villages like Tanshui and Yuyu, offering glimpses of traditional fishing communities. Key sights include the Donghai Fairyland, Longfengtou Beach, Sand Sculpture Park, Haitan Ancient Town, and Tannan Bay, known for its gentle slopes and silvery sand.

7. Wuyishan Scenic Area Loop

Wuyi Mountain is a cycling paradise. The 50-km loop around the scenic area offers fresh air and stunning views of the Jiuqu River (Nine-Bend Stream), peculiar peaks, and beautiful valleys.

Starting from Wuyi Square in the resort area, the route passes North Crossing, Xiaozhulin, Lotus Peak, the Yulinting Kiln site, Xingcun Ferry, and famous peaks like Yunu Feng. Note that private vehicles are not allowed on the main scenic roads inside the core park; this route circumnavigates the area without entering the ticketed attractions. Purchasing a ticket is required if you wish to enter the specific scenic spots.
