On September 27, the XDS “Ride to the World” professional cyclist development program held its offline selection race at Shenzhen’s Guangming Hongqiao Park, marking a key step in identifying China’s next generation of cycling talent.

The program, launched by XDS, aims to create a clear pathway for young Chinese riders—from amateur levels all the way to professional continental and WorldTour teams. This event served as the final stage of a nationwide selection process that began online on September 1.

A total of 23 elite cyclists competed in an individual time trial and a criterium-style points race under sunny skies and temperatures reaching 34°C (93°F). In the end, Ge ShengNan claimed first place, followed by Shen JunXin in second and Jin ZiChun in third.

The top performers now have the chance to join XDS Astana WorldTeam’s winter training camp, while other finalists may be invited to join XDS-supported development squads.
Adding to the professional atmosphere, XDS dealers brought Astana Team-branded bikes and equipment to the venue, giving the event an international flair and drawing plenty of attention from spectators.

As a UCI WorldTeam, the XDS Astana outfit offers riders access to world-class coaching, technical support, nutritionists, mechanics, and top-tier equipment—including bikes and helmets from XDS’s X-LAB line.

The “Ride to the World” program reflects XDS’s deepening commitment to systematic athlete development and represents a major milestone in connecting Chinese cyclists with global opportunities.
Building champions, bridging worlds.
