The 2025 3rd Qingdao Cangma Mountain Sports Carnival, also serving as the second stop of the Shandong Downhill League, successfully concluded from July 17th to 20th at the Qingdao Cangma Mountain Night Hawk Mountain Bike Park. Over 200 athletes from 20 provinces and municipalities across China participated, showcasing their vitality and athletic prowess.
As a key annual sports IP event for Shandong Province and the Qingdao West Coast New Area, the carnival featured six competitive categories with a total of 14 different race groups. These events included e-motocross, 2X dual slalom, bicycle trials, pump track time trials, jump skills competitions, and mountain bike downhill races. The diverse program attracted participants aged 6 to 36, ensuring representation across all age groups.
The events were well-suited to the geographical environment of Cangma Mountain. As the only operational mountain bike park in Shandong Province capable of hosting downhill races, the venue perfectly demonstrated the charm and diversity of mountain sports. The downhill race was the most popular event, attracting 150 participants and standing out as the carnival’s flagship discipline.
By deeply integrating “sports + culture + tourism,” the event effectively enhanced the visibility of the New Area’s city brand, boosting related industries such as tourism and hospitality. This successful conversion of spectator “traffic” into consumer “spending” has injected sustained vitality into the socioeconomic development of the New Area.
Below are highlights from the event.
